NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK COMPETITION-Sat. Sept 20th at Prouty Beach field. There will be a late morning and an early afternoon measuring times to accommodate your busy schedule. This is your local competition where you can try your best and have fun with friends. We measure your throw, kick and punt attempts and depending on age group, you could qualify to compete in the Sectional competition in central Vermont in the fall. This event is sponsored by the NFL New England Patriots and Newport Parks & Recreation Dept. Call 334-6345 for more details and times. FREE BIKE USE- We have 10 Mountain Bikes available through the Chronic Disease Control Grant which we hope to help lower the chronic disease increase within the NorthEast Kingdom. Get out and get active by using our bikes and helmets. Available at Prouty Beach Ticket Booth. Please drive with care and responsibility when using the bikes and report any defective equipment. STICKS FOR KIDS- The Newport Parks & Recreation Dept. and US Golf Association have partnered to allow boys and girls of the area to get out and play golf. We have brand new sets of golf clubs available for use at the Parks & Rec Dept. If you are interested in borrowing these clubs, both right and left handed from ages 5-13 years old, give us a call and we’ll set you up for FREE. 334-6345.
ADULT COED FALL VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE- Begins Monday Sept 8th at the North Country Union High School gym. Contact Reg Shafe at the Rec.Dept 334-6345 for more info. TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR GREAT ESCAPE AND SIX FLAGS-Come to the City Clerk office in the Municipal Building and purchase your discount tickets and plan a fun outing with family and friends this summer. Additional discount coupons available for Six Flags on games and food items.
GATEWAY CRAFT SHOW & QUILTFEST- Sat. Sept. 20th 10am-4pm, the Craft Show will be at the Gateway on the Waterfront and the Quiltfest will be held in the Municipal Building Gym. Crafters are still wanted for the Show. Contact Jan Hogan at 334-6345 if interested. JR. TEAM TENNIS LEAGUE AND LESSONS- Whether your son or daughter want to just play in matches, receive lessons or both, come down to Prouty Beach and register at the ticket booth today! Also, womens’ and mens’ matches and lessons available.
